I will tell you one thing about this fight, Cheick Kongo  sucks at grappling. Yes he can strike but his grappling is so bad it is not even funny. About 6 months ago Kongo made a visit to Vancouver Canada and he stopped and rolled with some of my teammates at Dynamic MMA and some Marcus Soares BJJ fighters. Adam Ryan runs Dynamic MMA and he was putting on a show on Kongo. Yes Ryan has MMA experience and is a black belt in jujitsu under 7th degree BJJ black belt Marcus Soares but he was playing with Kongo on the ground and many guys ranging from blues, purple, brown belts in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu were also dominating Kongo on the ground. Cheick Kongo was basically being pimped on the ground. Kongo was only able to survive just on the fact that he was bigger and had freak strength.

Bet this UFC fight at BetUS

If Kongo was getting dominated by some guys that don’t ever fight no gi, than what chance does he have with Frank Mir? Frank Mir is a legitimate black belt that will come into this fight heavier at 245 pounds than Kongo (230) and one inch shorter. There is no way that Kongo will be able to keep this fight standing and no way will he be able to defend Mir’s submission attempts.

Mir received his black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu after only 5 years of training from Ricardo Pires who is a forth degree black belt under Professor Marcus Soares, from Carlson Gracie. Mir is a legitimate black belt with real skills while Kongo is barely a blue belt at best. Mir has the size and power to attack and submit Kongo in this fight.

It is not a matter if but when this fight hits the ground in this heavyweight fight. Just look at Kongo’s last MMA fight. He fought Cain Velasquez and in all 15 minutes of that fight he was on the ground for 12 of them. Velasquez was able to take him to the ground and basically control him and beat him down for 12 minutes. I would have personally scored each of those round 10 to 8 in favor of Velasquez. It was embarrassing how apparent his lack of skills were on the ground.

Now detractors of this article will say that Velasquez was a NCAA division 1 fighter and that it was his wrestling skills that were able to hold him down on the ground. Well first Mir has considerable wrestling skills where he went to Bonanza High School in Las Vegas where he had a record of 44–1. He started wrestling during his junior year and lost his first nine matches but won the state championship as a senior in 1998.

Bet this UFC 107 fight at BetCRIS

Yes Kongo has the advantage in the striking department but Mir has enough skills to bide his time before he will be able to take him down. Yes Kongo was the former Muay Thai World champion and can knock out Mir but Mir has fought top level strikers in the past. Mir fought Antoni Hardonk (who has a similar fighting style to Kongo) at UFC 74 and won via kimura in 1:17 of the first round. I predict a similar fate in the fight. Mir will take Kongo down and either attack the legs or the win this fight by kimura.

Bottom Line: If you think Kongo will win this fight you really don’t know mixed martial arts. The sports book odds makers opened the UFC betting lines with Mir as a -185 betting favorite. I would have opened up at -250 so this UFC sports bet is a steal on the money line. I would lay a lot of money on Mir to submit Kongo.

Kongo is no where near a top level fighter. He is the best example of a one dimensional fighter. He has great striking but no grappling whatsoever. He has used his size and strength in the past but Mir is a bigger fighter and will impose his skill on an unskilled fighter. This is the best UFC bet of the night. I would lay a huge amount of money on the money line and if there is a UFC prop bet I would bet on a submission victory in this fight.

BJ Penn vs Diego Sanchez Video – UFC 107

The UFC fighters once again put on a great show in UFC 107. The great fights were BJ Penn vs Diego Sanchez for the lightweight championship, Frank Mir vs Cheick Kongo, Jon Fitch vs Mike Pierce, Kenny Florian vs Clay Guida, Paul Buentello vs Stefan Struve, Alan Belcher vs Wilson Gouveia, Matt Wiman vs Shane Nelson, Johny Hendricks vs Ricardo Funch, Rousimar Palhares vs Lucio Linhares, DaMarques Johnson vs Edgar Garcia, Kevin Burns vs TJ Grant, and numerous other ones in this BJ Penn vs Diego Sanchez fight video.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is a U.S.-based MMA promotion. Dana White answers as the chairwoman of the UFC while Zuffa, LLC, operated by Frank and Lorenzo Fertitta, owns the society. The conception for a tournament purposing to see the world’s top-quality fight manner came from Art Davie, an promoting executive located in southwest California. Davie met Rorion Gracie in 1991 while searching martial arts for a marketing client. Gracie controlled a Brazilian jiu-jitsu schooling in Torrance, California and the Gracie home had a long history of vale tudo matches—a precursor of mixed martial arts—in Brazil. Davie became Gracie’s student.

Although UFC applied the “There are no rules!” tagline in the early 1990s, the UFC did in fact function with small rules. There was no biting, no gouging, and the system lowered on (but allowed) techniques such as hair pulling, headbutting, groin strikes and fish-hooking. The ten-point must system is in effect for all UFC fights; three judges score each round and the succeeder of every has ten points, the loser nine points or less. If the round is close, both champions accept ten points. In New Jersey, the fewest points a champion can get is 7, and in other states by customs no champion gets less than 8.

Without a doubt, BJ Penn is the best 155 pound in the world. There is no one in the division that can touch him. Most 155 pound fighters can’t even touch him BUT Diego Sanchez is not a 155 pound fighter.

It might be surprising to most that you would choose Diego Sanchez to beat BJ Penn but he has problems with bigger fighters and he has problems with fighters that like to press the action. That and the +220 online sports betting odds, leads me to lay my money on the underdog in this fight.

Diego is a slightly better wrestling and he has better striking. The real determining factor in why he will win this fight is pace. Diego Sanchez will push the pace of the fight and he will pressure the fights. BJ Penn likes to control his mixed martial arts fights but when a fighter takes control of the pace they usually are able to dictate and beat BJ.

Also BJ Penn has problems with fighters that are bigger and stronger than him. Penn lost to Georges St Pierre twice at because GSP was bigger and he pushed the pace of the fight. Penn lost to Matt Hughes at UFC 63: Hughes vs. Penn because he was not in shape and near the end of the fight Hughes pushed the pace and he was a bigger fighter.

Diego Sanchez is a big 155 pound fighter. He is normally a welterweight fighter and could even fight at middleweight if he wanted to. He will cut a lot of weigh coming into this fight and after his weight cut, Sanchez will most likely be at 170 pounds fight day. He will be a much larger and more powerful fighter and he will pose Penn some problems because of Diego’s size.

Size will play big role in this fight, and Penn has not done so well with fighters that are bigger than him. BJ dominates same size fighters like he did with Kenny Florian and Sean Sherk. But remember Sanchez is the bigger fighter and that is a major factor when fighting BJ Penn.

Bet on UFC 107 at BetUS.com

The second factor of this fight that gives Sanchez the advantage is pace. Diego is a very aggressive fighter and he likes to push the pace and come forward on his fighters. BJ Penn has never been a fighter that trained very hard and if you could pressure him early in the first couple of rounds he tends to gas buy round 3.

Diego is a fighter that is always in shape and he will pressure Penn as soon as the fight starts. He will be able to back Penn up with his aggressive pressure and confuse him with his strikes and kicks. After the first two rounds Penn will be exhausted trying to keep up with Diego’s’ pace. When Penn fought Matt Hughes the second time he was dominating him but by round 3 he was out of gas and Hughes turned it up. His last fight with St Pierre he was getting thrown off his game and by round 4 he could not continue. If Diego can push the pace he will tire out Penn and take the fight in the latter rounds.

Grappling wise you would think BJ Penn is a better fighter. And YES he is but not as much as most people think. At the age of seventeen, Penn began training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu after being introduced to it by his neighbor and started training Ralph Gracie. After he got his purple belt he moved to Nova União where he was eventually awarded his black belt in 2000 by Andre Pederneiras. A few weeks BJ Penn became the first non-Brazilian to win the black-belt division of the World Jiu-Jitsu Championship held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

While most people need a decade or more to become a black belt, Penn got his black belt with only three years of training. BJ Penn is known for his jiu-jitsu but if you look at his record in MMA he wins all of his fights by rear naked choke. Now if you break down his grappling game he dominates the grappling game because he is equal in weight. If Diego Sanchez were the same weight and size he most likely would dominate the fight.

However, Diego is no slouch on the ground. His no gi game is very good and has even competed at the ADCC 2005 Absolute Division championships. The Abu Dhabi is the most prestigious grapping tournament in the world which is something BJ Penn has never competed in before. Diego won his first fight at the ADCC and lost his second fight to Marcelo Garcia who is considered to be one of the best grapplers in the world. That was when Diego never even competed with a gi before. In 2005, Sanchez wrestled for his high school in New Mexico before starting training MMA with Greg Jackson at Jackson’s Submission Fighting which is considered to be the best MMA trainer in the world. Despite never using a gi in grappling Diego has a very tight grappling game.

Unlike most MMA fighters, Sanchez has constantly fought to get better. He recently started training with the gi with one of the best Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu fighters in the world in Xande and Saulo Ribeiro. When he started training with a gi on he had to start at the bottom and become white belt. Within 2 years he has become a brown belt and by year 3 he will become a black belt. How many MMA fighters do you know that would start over and become a white belt? Diego is now working with one of the best grapplers in the world today in Xande and Saulo Ribeiro.

So yes BJ Penn is a better grappler but not by much. BJ is so flexible and once he takes your back he will sub you, however when he fights bigger guys he has problems with his submissions.

Striking wise you have to give a slight edge to Diego. Diego will have the reach and power advantage in the striking. He will be the bigger fighter and he can push off and jab his punches so BJ Penn will not to get in close. Technically BJ Penn is a better striker with better fundamentals but he will be confused with the sheer amount of strikes and the reach.

Bet on UFC 107 at Bookmaker.com

Bottom Line: Remember Diego Sanchez was a format member of the Greg Jackson team and Jackson was in the corner when GSP fought Penn so Sanchez will fight a similar fight that St Pierre fought. Sanchez will be prepared for this fight and he will shock many.

I love the fact that Sanchez is the bigger, stronger and more aggressive fighter. These are the three factors that BJ Penn has troubles with in fighters. UFC sports betting wise the +220 betting odds are perfect and I would lay a small amount on the money line for Diego to win this fight. I don’t think Diego has the power to knock out Penn or the grappling skill to sub him but he has have the power and strength to win the stand and get the take down points.

He also has the skill in top position to have an effective ground and pound. If he is in Penn’s guard, he will do the exact same thing GSP did and use his size and power to punish Penn. The Ribeiro brothers will show him how to fight effectively in the guard. If Diego stays in the top position he can control the ground game. If Penn is on to it will be over. However, Penn will have a hard time getting top position or taking Diego’s back since he is the bigger stronger fighter.

I do believe Diego does not have the skills to beat Penn but he has the stamina and power to hurt Penn and bring this fight late into the rounds. By the time Penn hits the forth round he will be gassed and that’s when Sanchez will take over. The best bet is to bet on the UFC prop bet for Diego to win by decision. He will hurt and confuse Penn with his strikes and kicks. BJ will not be able to close the distance because he is the smaller fighter. BJ Penn has a lot to look out for in this fight like strikes, kicks, takedowns and the ground and pound while Sanchez only has to worry about not giving up his back or being on the bottom.

It’s been awhile since there was an exciting UFC event. And the UFC 107 Live Stream this Saturday should give fans an exciting mma spectacle that is actually worth buying pay-per-view access for. If your wondering when does UFC 107 start then you have to know that it starts at 7PM Pacific Time and 10 PM Eastern Time.

CLICK HERE TO WATCH UFC 107 LIVE STREAM

For an mma fan, missing this huge year end event will be very disappointing as this event is by far the second best card since the historic UFC 100.

With BJ Penn returning to the main event and facing Diego Sanchez, this weekends Fight Night will surely be reminiscent of the historic night of UFC 100. Well at least somewhat close to it.

This event is supported by a Heavyweight matchup between two top tier heavyweights in Cheick Kongo and Frank Mir. This is a clash of two different styles – A man with superior striking game and a ground expert. It’s amazing how Dana really matches people up. I mean Cheick Kongo has little to no ground game to speak of while Frank Mir thinks he’s a good striker but not really as good as he thinks he is. Both guys have been dominated in their previous fight and their on the comeback trail in this match.

The Live stream of UFC 107 will also present Kenny Florian and Clay Guida. Another great lightweight matchup! Both these guys have made a name for themselves with their great victories against the divisions top contenders. Kenny recently lost to BJ Penn and is looking to probably send a message to BJ that he wants BJ’s belt…again. CLay Guida is a very explosive fighter and will not be sloppy in this matchup/

Now how do you plan to watch ufc 107 online?

There are live streams available from the official website of UFC itself and also through the subscription through UFC’s official iphone app. It’s commendable how easy Dana made the UFC events available to the fans.

I am a huge mma fan and live and breathe the mma community. Be sure to not miss this saturday’s event because this will be great for sure. Come on BJ Penn and Diego Sanchez?

Watch UFC 107 Online and witness the Mega Lightweight match having got two of the tiptop competitors in the section is on its way this Saturday night. Unbowed in the Lightweight division for a really long while, BJ Penn gets out of a supreme title vindication against Kenny Florian. Diego arrived a long way to get to this point and intends that he’s ready to face the prodigy.

Do you actually wish discover ufc 107 on-line? I normally watch ufc online , this should be truly hot because the last two events was not as agitating as others were. I think UFC got drained by strikeforce and boxing this month. But with BJ Penn facing off with Diego Sanchez, this could perhaps polish off that irritating after taste of the early matches like the Machida bout for example.

In some nations UFC 107 is showed without indebtednesses directly from Zuffa’s divergent affiliates worldwide. In the Philippines it is possible to view it if you’re pledged to Sky Cable, a local cable company. If you’re currently subscribed to a cable TV deal in your country why don’t you ask the supplier if they have any distribution channels that shows up UFC. Nearly of the time cable television companies have live sports streaming transfers. If you’re cable provider doesn’t have it then you might construe flipping

Both scrappers are considered to be top of the inning lightweight combatants in the world. The essential divergence – is seasoning. Patently, BJ Penn went through more numerous superior level struggles as pitted to Diego Sanchez. BJ opposed most of the top hombres in both the lightweight and welterweight variance. He even opposed the up-to-date light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida at some level in his calling. BJ is a very sturdy dude and he has builded up his combat game throughout his vocation. He became very well rounded and has dotted up virtually all of his weaknesses through some other fights that multiplied in his career. Meanwhile, Diego Sanchez is your average potential champion that is counting for a shot at immensity. He made his print in the mma community after acquiring the 1st season of the Ultimate Fighter. This guy is legendary for being very head-on and his different fighting behavior. He too has an amazing conditioning and awesome striking game. Diego’s edge in this push will be his massive conditioning.

If you’re an mma buff just like many others out there missing the UFC 107 Live Stream will make your christmas very bitter.

So be sure to catch streaming of UFC 107 however you can.

I love to watch mma, a huge fight fan and a writer of many articles relating to mma. Be sure to read the next edition of my UFC 107 series here in articles base.
