• Believe The Hype Jones Halts Vera in One
Thomas Gerbasi, UFC - There are no bones about it. Jon Jones is the real deal. For evidence, look no further than the New Yorker's first round TKO of perennial contender Brandon Vera Sunday night, which not only lifted his record to 10-1, but lifted him into the upper echelon of the 205-pound weight class in the first UFC Live on VERSUS event at 1st Ban […]
  • Main events: Dos Santos Drops Gonzaga in One
Thomas Gerbasi, UFC - This is starting to become a habit. Brazilian bomber Junior Dos Santos added another high-profile name to his resume Sunday night, as he knocked out former world title challenger Gabriel Gonzaga in the first round of their UFC Live on VERSUS co-main event at 1st Bank Center. […]
  • Undercard: Guida Back in Winning Form; Mile High Monster Schaub Wins in One
Thomas Gerbasi, UFC - After a rough 2009 campaign that saw him lose two of three bouts, lightweight contender Clay Guida returned to form on the inaugural UFC Live on VERSUS card with an impressive second round submission win over Shannon Gugerty Sunday at 1st Bank Center […]

  • Jon Jones The Evolution of Look-See-Do
Thomas Gerbasi, UFC - Jon Jones stood in the Octagon on the night of December 5, 2009, disappointed, but with his head held high. There would be no whining, no complaining, no angry outbursts after his disqualification loss against Matt Hamill, though he probably would have been justified on all three counts. […]
  • Inside Jon Jones' killer workouts
At 22, Jon 'Bones' Jones may be talked about as the Next Big Thing in the UFC, but the phenom's eye-popping abilities aren't an accident. The 6-foot-3, light heavyweight phenom and former All-American Greco-Roman wrestler has a training regimen as unorthodox as the kicks and strikes for which he's known. Each exercise is designed to […]
  • Vera Ready to go Retro on Jon Jones
Mike Russell, UFC - In the summer of 2003, Brandon Vera was standing in a supermarket checkout line and picked up the latest issue of Muscle and Fitness magazine to browse through it while he waited. The cover featured a lean, mean looking badass named Frank Mir, who at the time was touted by many as being "the next big thing" in the UFC. Accompany […]
  • UFC CONFIRMS REMAINING BOUTS FOR UFN: FLORIAN VS GOMI
Las Vegas, NV (USA) - Home to two of the first five Ultimate Fighting Championship® (UFC®) events, Charlotte, North Carolina will once again host the premier organization in mixed martial arts on Wednesday, March 31st, as the UFC returns to Charlotte for the first time in nearly 15 years with a spectacular card at the Bojangles Coliseum featuring the lightwe […]
  • James Irvin -Still Standing
Thomas Gerbasi, UFC - For years before they even made it to the big shows, my buddy and colleague Jason Probst always told me about James Irvin, Scott Smith, and Urijah Faber - a trio of friends and training partners from Northern California that he insisted had the right stuff to make it big in the still growing sport of mixed martial arts. Irvin, now a UFC […]
  • Paul Buentello The Headhunter Sharpens His Tools
Thomas Gerbasi, UFC - Paul Buentello is old-school, in the Octagon and in life. So the idea of uprooting himself and retooling his game after 36 fights and nearly 13 years in the pro game wasn't exactly embraced with open arms. […]

In the Movie “Taken”, the main character(Known in the movie as Bryan Mills) is a very good fighter. I am planning on attending Mixed Martial art classes in which they will be teaching me stuff from Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai, Kickboxing, and some other stuff, and I was wondering that if I mastered Mixed Martial arts, would my fighting style and technique be similar to that of Bryan Mills? Would I be able to do to people what he does?
