  • Jon Jones The Evolution of Look-See-Do
Thomas Gerbasi, UFC - Jon Jones stood in the Octagon on the night of December 5, 2009, disappointed, but with his head held high. There would be no whining, no complaining, no angry outbursts after his disqualification loss against Matt Hamill, though he probably would have been justified on all three counts. […]
  • Inside Jon Jones' killer workouts
At 22, Jon 'Bones' Jones may be talked about as the Next Big Thing in the UFC, but the phenom's eye-popping abilities aren't an accident. The 6-foot-3, light heavyweight phenom and former All-American Greco-Roman wrestler has a training regimen as unorthodox as the kicks and strikes for which he's known. Each exercise is designed to […]
  • Vera Ready to go Retro on Jon Jones
Mike Russell, UFC - In the summer of 2003, Brandon Vera was standing in a supermarket checkout line and picked up the latest issue of Muscle and Fitness magazine to browse through it while he waited. The cover featured a lean, mean looking badass named Frank Mir, who at the time was touted by many as being "the next big thing" in the UFC. Accompany […]
  • UFC CONFIRMS REMAINING BOUTS FOR UFN: FLORIAN VS GOMI
Las Vegas, NV (USA) - Home to two of the first five Ultimate Fighting Championship® (UFC®) events, Charlotte, North Carolina will once again host the premier organization in mixed martial arts on Wednesday, March 31st, as the UFC returns to Charlotte for the first time in nearly 15 years with a spectacular card at the Bojangles Coliseum featuring the lightwe […]
  • James Irvin -Still Standing
Thomas Gerbasi, UFC - For years before they even made it to the big shows, my buddy and colleague Jason Probst always told me about James Irvin, Scott Smith, and Urijah Faber - a trio of friends and training partners from Northern California that he insisted had the right stuff to make it big in the still growing sport of mixed martial arts. Irvin, now a UFC […]
  • Paul Buentello The Headhunter Sharpens His Tools
Thomas Gerbasi, UFC - Paul Buentello is old-school, in the Octagon and in life. So the idea of uprooting himself and retooling his game after 36 fights and nearly 13 years in the pro game wasn't exactly embraced with open arms. […]
  • Reinventing Eliot Marshall, a Fight at a Time
Thomas Gerbasi, UFC - It may have been the greatest compliment a fighter could receive. When talking about his loss to Eliot Marshall last September, Jason Brilz admitted to being totally surprised at how Marshall went from ground wizard to stick and move artist, leaving the veteran out of sorts as he dropped a three round unanimous decision at UFC 103. […]
  • Gabriel Gonzaga Energized for Another Title Run
Martins Denis, UFC - Seconds prior to Gabriel 'Napao' Gonzaga's most recent fight against Chris 'The Crowbar' Tuchscherer last August at UFC 102, blow-by-blow commentator Mike Goldberg asked the question that everybody wanted to know before the two touched gloves. […]
  • The Blueprint: Vera vs Jones
Michael DiSanto, UFC - Succinctly stated, Brandon Vera versus Jon Jones is going to be one heck of a scrap. Vera is a guy who likes to fight on the feet with calculated pressure, picking his spots from the outside as he breaks down an opponent with long-range punches and some of the best leg kicks in the business. He is also excellent in the clinch with bot […]

t’s widely known that kung fu skills has indeed come a ways over time. Many years back, Bruce Lee helped the humanities become even more well known, when he developed his style of Jeet Kune Do.

He took part in many pictures, showing the world his speed and refinement.

Since that time, films have been a common way to demonstrate kung fu skills abilities. Back in the early 1990s, something called the UFC ( Final Fighting Championship ) came along to take things a step further. Although there were other competitions like the UFC, none had the proficiency and the dedication as UFC did. When it first started, the UFC paired different styles and different weight classes. The result were exciting fights with varying results. The 1st ever champ was a person from Brazil named Royce Gracie. Gracie was first to introduce Brazilian Jui-Jitsu in this fashion, opening up the eyes of everybody who witness him fight. After the 1st UFC competition, Brazilian Jui-Jitsu was straight away viewed as the best martial art. Royce weighed under 2 hundred pounds, and he was totally dominating folks virtually three times his size.

Gracie would go on to win UFC two and 4 also. He was the most dominating in the game, and opened the eyes of everybody around the globe. In UFC three, he did not lose, though he ran into a troublesome fighter who almost beat him. Gracie came back in UFC five for a superfight match up with Ken Shamrock, which would go the distance and end in a draw. Other wrestlers have done outstandingly well in the UFC, though none had the impact as Royce Gracie. Wrestlers like Ken Shamrock, Dan Severn, Oleg Taktarov, Matt Hughes, and Matt Sylivia have also done very well. Matt Hughes is also considered to be one of the finest, as he fights in the Welterweight class and is regarded pound for pound to be the best fighter in the world. In the world of MMA ( Mixed kung fu skills ), the UFC has made a gigantic impact. At the start, there were no rules and no judges, just one on one fights till somebody either tapped out, got knocked out, or the ref thru in the towel. Wrestlers also fought in a contest style also which took three fights to win the championship. Over time, there were several changes. The UFC would commence with judges after one or two years, with getting shot of the contests. The fights would at last go to one on one, which was excellent for the fans. Though the fights failed to have some time boundaries at the start, they do now. The non title fights are 3 five minute rounds, while the title fights are 5 five minute rounds. If a fight goes to the judges, the judges decide the winner. There are 3 judges, which typically change with each different UFC. Judges are there do establish the winner if there’s no knockout or submission, while the ref is there to guard the fighters. The referee can stop a fight too if a fighter is unable to protect themselves. With all of the changes in the guidelines of the UFC, it’s only a matter of time before the UFC gains more recognition. It is more favored today than it ever has been, which tells you that karate skills have come a good way.

Self-defense skills is hip nowadays, with competitions like the UFC being one of the most well liked sports in the world.

If you’ve been keeping up with things, you know that the upcoming fight of Tito Ortiz versus Forrest Griffin is not the first time that these two superlative fighters have been in the ring. It was 2006 and the scene was one most people won’t forget. Ortiz and Griffin took it to The Octagon and, as they say, the rest is history. On November 21, in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Mandalay Bay Events Center, fans will be packing the house to witness Griffin’s attempt to squash “The Huntington Beach Bad Boy”.

If you haven’t been keeping up, then it’s a great time to get back into the ultimate fighting scene and get caught up on what’s happening in the UFC arena. The battle between Ortiz and Griffin marks a kick off of many great challenges coming up and you don’t want to miss a single one. After the Ortiz versus Griffin2 matchup on November 21 this years, the heavyweight division finale on December 5 is like an early Christmas present for fans that enjoy The Ultimate Fighter challenge. Matt “The Hammer” Hamill will take on Jon “Bones” Jones. Jones has the height advantage ofer Hamill by 3 inches but weights are the same, with both fighters at 205 pounds each. Hamill’s record is 8-2-0 while Jones holds a perfect 8-0-0. This promises to be an Ultimate Fighter finale that you simply must see. At a glance, Jones gives a longer, leaner appearance but the bottom line is about who walks away the winner when all is said and done.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship schedule has plenty of treats on it for those who enjoy this particular brand of fighting that combines mixed martial arts and sometimes more than just a little bit of bragging on the part of the fighters themselves.

The battle between Ortiz and Griffin on November 19 will take place at 3950 Las Vegas Blvd South on the Las Vegas Strip between Hacienda and Russell Road, the location of Mandalay Bay Resort. Many exciting events are held at the Mandalay Bay Resort throughout the year and the Ultimate Fighting Championship is no exception to the quality experience you can prepare to have at this venue. Unlike many locations which feature space for the event only, you can plan your Ultimate Fighting Championship attendance as part of a luxurious overnight stay at the resort or a weekend getaway if you wish.

Mandalay Bay Resort is one of the finest locations when it comes to accommodations and there are great many things to enjoy, in addition to the Ultimate Fighting Championship event on Saturday, November 21, without ever leaving the resort. Those who do wish to go out into the Las Vegas night will find no shortage of things to do on the strip. This 43-story luxury hotel and casino has more than a little something for everyone and after a full night’s enjoyment at the fight, you can take in dinner and whatever other festivities suit you.

The Mandalay Bay Events Center is the location for the Ultimate Fighting event this month as well as many other great events. If you are planning to attend with a group, remember that every person in attendance must have a ticket in order to be admitted. There are no discounts for children and no free admissions for any age groups. This center has also hosted the Latin Grammy Awards and is an excellent choice for getting up close to the action that Ultimate Fighting Championship matches can provide. There’s still time to get your tickets to ensure that you’re on hand in person to witness if Griffin will make good on his promise or not.

Nothing even comes close to the gut-wrenching action you can witness with Ultimate Fighting Championship tickets event. This November, the UFC championship will be held at the luxurious Mandalay Bay Events Center. Ticket America has the best seats with the click of your mouse!
