  • Meat Cleaver Plans Austin Upset

  • Mirko's Memorable Moments
KO 1 Igor Vovchanchyn – PRIDE Total Elimination 2003 – August 10, 2003“Right leg hospital, left leg cemetery.” Maybe the greatest, and certainly the most intimidating, quote in mixed martial arts history, and it definitely applies to the fighting style of Cro Cop, who used his signature left head kick to blast out the vastly underrated Vovchanchyn out in the […]

  • UFC 118 Musings
PENN’S KRYPTONITE?Frankie Edgar proved to the world on Saturday night that his shocking upset win over BJ Penn in Abu Dhabi was not a fluke.  There was no controversy this time around.  No room for excuses.  None of that.  Edgar outclassed Penn in every facet of the game.  I’m not so certain that if the pair fought 10 times that the outcome would be any diff […]

I would like to open up a business in my town. A mixed martial arts business… where I would not teach or train, but run the business. I would like to hire a few different people to teach classes in different arts/techniques. Any ideas would be helpful.
to further explain myself… I hold a 3rd degree black belt in ju jitzu and have studied various forms, to include karate, gung fu, tai kick boxing, and jeet kun do.

How would I become an MMA fighter. It doesn’t matter amateur or professional. I’m 15, I train on my own 1-3 hours daily, am pretty good at fighting, and I have a background in kung fu, tae kwan do, and karate.

You know how alot of ex-NFL players after they reach 50 can barely walk or maybe younger. It seems that the toll on the body of the NFL players can be devastating later on. Will MMA fighters experience the same thing? Could a person expect to have 30 MMA fights and be a healthy individual afterward? Is fighting MMA like playing russian roulete with your health?
